They are almost the same bow IMO. The VTM 34 has a true center shot at around 3/4”, in other words the arrow is coming straight out of the bow at that distance. The V Pro 33 was closer to 5/8”. So I much prefer the VTM from that aspect. The VTM also has the hole in the riser for the drop away rest which is nice.

I went into my local shop and shot the Phase 4 29/33 and the VTM 31. The draw cycle seemed a touch better on the VTM but the back wall and hold felt incredible on the Phase 4's. I bumped up from 60# to 70# so I didn't hold the draw cycle of the Mathews against it.

Location. UT. This is an opinion based subject so I will give mine. I believe the Mathews binary cam configuration to be far superior to Hoyt's hybrid cam and a half system. The tuning and usability of the binary cam is so user friendly comared to the myriad of issues you can run into with the hybrid cam.
Switched from the Mathews Vertix to a 80lb Hoyt VTM 34. Couldn’t be happier with the balance of the bow, overall speed, and groups so far. Just ordered a quivalizer to try something new this year. Primarily hunt spot and stalk in south central ND.The 80% mods will be "jumpier" due to a narrower valley. If your draw length is spot on this will be less noticeable. I switched from 85% to 80 because the western state I hunt each year is 80% max lefoff.
